BASTA sofas are produced in small, local ateliers from sustainable materials and built to last. 

We sell and deliver direct to you, cutting costs. You pay for high quality design, production and materials, and not much else.

Modifiable and modular

Our designs are modular, moveable and re-configurable. Sofas you can shape around your life, your needs and your space. They are easy to clean, repair and update. And they are easy to take apart and take with you, wherever life takes you.

In an industry still creating waste and inconvenience, we are radically sensible.

Adaptable

A BASTA sofa arrives in small pieces that can be painlessly manoeuvred through small spaces and narrow, twisting stairwells and then assembled on-site. And when it’s time to move, it can be quickly disassembled for onward travel. 

A BASTA Sofa isn’t a fixed, static form, it is an interplay of elements. Our Cubi sofa for instance is available as a six-part two-seater, a three-seater, or a four-or-more seater.

There are options for different fabrics, finishes and colours. It’s a design system that gives you creative control.

Enduring

A BASTA sofa is made with long lasting and high quality materials. Cubi frames are crafted from certified birch plywood, guaranteeing strength and longevity.

Our foams are of the highest quality and currently the most durable option available on the market. It has covers that are easy to remove, clean at home or repair. And, if you want a more permanent change, they are easy to update for a fraction of the price of a new sofa.

Washable at 30º at home

The base fabrics of Cubi sofas can be machine-washed at 30 degrees, which is simply life-changing for pet owners or families with children.

Responsible

Our sofas are developed by an in-house team in Helsinki and some of the best designers in Europe. Our experienced production team has relationships with the best suppliers and our sofas are built from high quality, innovative, sustainable materials.

The frames are made from certified birch plywood. Our foams are of the highest quality and the most durable option currently available in the market. Our fabrics, created especially for us, are made from 100 per cent recycled PET bottles but feel as soft and warm as wool or cotton. 

Local

Local production in small ateliers is central to BASTA’s business model. It means we can maintain the highest quality production and service.

Local production means we can deliver our sofas directly to our customers in re-usable cargo bags using electric or bio-diesel trucks and put them together in your home, exactly how and where you want them. 

Local production also means local support, if you need it. But it works both ways. Ordering from BASTA means that you are helping to create local jobs for skilled makers.
